Recipe #9: Placki Ziemniaczane

This recipe is a classic and so easy to make!

You will need:

  • 6 potatoes

  • 2 eggs

  • flour

  • salt/pepper

  • sunflower oil

  • Cooking utensils: frying pan


Preparation:

  • Peel and grate two onions.

  • Peel and grate six medium-sized potatoes.

  • Add two eggs to the grated potatoes and onions and mix well.

  • Add flour to thicken (about three tablespoons).

  • Add salt and pepper for a spicy flavour.

  • Heat a frying pan with sunflower oil to high temperature.


Frying:

  • Put the pulp in the pan for two pancakes (half a pan per pancake) and fry until brown edges appear on the pancakes.

  • The pancakes should be turned over to continue frying on the other side. Turn the pancakes over a few times to check if they are similar in color on both sides.


Serve with sour cream, fried mushrooms and freshly chopped chives. For a variation, you can also add minced garlic or chopped parsley. Apple sauce, for example, is a nice companion when serving this dish. Or give cranberry jam and cottage cheese a try! Szmacznego!
